As part of our History topic, we had two special visitors in Year 1 to answer our questions about the past. The children were amazed to find that there were no iPads or computers in schools and that there was no planning time!
In Year 1 we are learning about how humans change as they grow.
We had a fantastic afternoon looking at how we have changed!
Yesterday we found a lost owl in Year One! Our special visitor has been telling us all about her three owl babies: Sarah, Percy and Bill. We asked Mammy Owl lots of questions to find out who she is and where she is from and she then told us her special story ‘Owl Babies’. Mammy Owl then split us into groups to retell the story by ourselves.
We have some brilliant story tellers in Year One!
We have had a brilliant week learning about our achievements in Year One. For homework, the children were asked to bring something into school that they are proud of, so that they could share it with the rest of the class.
We have lots of talented children in Year One!
As part of our ‘This is Me’ topic, Year One have had lots of fun learning about the human body!

Thank you to Tracey and Mavis from ASDA, who came in today to visit Year One.
They brought lots of different fruits for us to try including: raspberries, mango, pomegranate and blackberries. They were absolutely delicious!
Well done to Year One who were amazing in their ‘Once Upon a Time’ assembly this morning.
